How to Play Steal An Egg — Beginner Guide to Your First Hour
How to play Steal An Egg on Roblox: steal eggs from other bases, hatch pets for income, upgrade your base and treadmill, train Speed, and win rare egg races.
What is Steal An Egg?
Steal An Egg is a Roblox simulation/tycoon game by developer “and Collect Rare Pets”, released on July 25, 2026. Servers hold up to 7 players, and as of August 24, 2026 it is one of the biggest games on the platform — 504K+ concurrent players and 282.7M+ visits at last check.
The whole game is one loop:
- Steal an egg from another player’s base.
- Carry it back to your base without getting caught.
- Hatch it into a pet.
- Earn money from your pets over time.
- Upgrade your base and treadmill, and train Speed.
- Steal rarer eggs — better pets, bigger sizes, rare mutations.
And the mirror rule that defines everything: other players can steal your eggs the same way.

How do you make your first steal?
Start conservative. Your first egg is about learning the route, not winning the server.
- Pick a safe target. Look for a base where the owner is far away or busy. An unattended common egg beats a guarded rare one when you are slow and new.
- Learn the route before you grab. Know exactly how you will get from their base to yours. Hesitation mid-run is how you get caught.
- Expect to be chased. The owner gets alerted when you take something. The run home is the steal — grabbing the egg is the easy part.
- Bank it. Once the egg is in your base, it is yours to hatch. Do not immediately wander off with your base full and undefended.
How do pets and income work?
Hatch your first egg as soon as it is home. The pet it produces starts generating money for your base automatically — pets are your entire economy. Money then buys base and treadmill upgrades, which is where progression lives.
Collect your income regularly. Money sitting uncollected is money you cannot spend on the upgrades that make your next steal safer. For what pets exist and what they earn, see the pet list.
When should you upgrade and train Speed?
As soon as income allows, put money into your base and treadmill. The treadmill is how you train Speed, and Speed is the single most important stat in the game: it decides whether you escape with an egg and whether you catch someone escaping with yours.
Check your progress with the speed calculator — it estimates how much training time stands between your current Speed and a target, which is the right question to ask before attempting a risky steal.
How do rare eggs fit in?
Common eggs build your economy; rare eggs transform it. Rarer eggs hatch into rarer, higher-income pets, and sizes and mutations add a collection chase on top.
The catch: everyone wants them. The community observes rare eggs spawning on a roughly 5-minute cycle, so rare eggs are a timing game as much as a Speed game. Learn the cycle on the rare eggs mechanics page, and use the rare egg predictor to be in position when the next one appears. Browse known eggs on the all eggs list.
How do you avoid losing everything?
PvP theft runs both directions in a 7-player server:
- Hatch eggs promptly — an unhatched egg is a stealable egg.
- Spend income into upgrades rather than hoarding it while you roam.
- Watch who is near your base before you leave for a long steal.
- Do not overreach early. Losing a rare egg because you grabbed one you could not carry home is the classic beginner mistake.
What are players chasing right now?
As of August 24, 2026 the community’s hottest targets are the Crane and Cave Dragon pets and the Sakura Incubator machine — all currently community-reported and being verified on their own pages. Players also report developer-run events; see Admin Abuse events for what that means and how to catch them.
One last note: there are no verified codes or shortcuts as of August 24, 2026 (see the codes status page). The loop above is the game — and it works.
